How to choose the right AI tool for your task

There are thousands of AI tools. You need three, maybe four. Here is how to pick them.

1. Start from the task, not the tool

Write down the exact job: "turn a 40 minute podcast into 10 vertical clips". Now the category is obvious, and only two or three services matter.

2. Check the free tier honestly

Ask whether the free plan covers your actual weekly volume. If it covers 10% of it, treat the tool as paid and price it in.

3. Test with your real input

Generic demos always look great. Run your own worst case file through the tool before paying for a year.

4. Check the licence

If the output ships to customers, confirm commercial usage rights on the plan you are on — not on the plan shown in the marketing page.
